Summary of Primary Functions:

 

This is an entry-level position in the manufacturing department, responsible for supporting the production department by meeting productivity and quality standards.

 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to and motivate others to follow the work instructions.
  • May be required to complete equipment calibration and setup; promptly communicate any maintenance issues to supervision.
  • Proactively identify quality, process, and workflow problems; inform supervision of any outstanding or reoccurring issues.
  • Participate in the training of Associates; mentor new hires and cross-train associates as necessary.
  • Actively communicate and share information and expectations with supervision; participate in team meetings and focus groups and offer input on facility issues.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude; treat all associates with respect and dignity.  Report any issues/concerns to supervision.
  • Actively support management decisions and communicate concerns when appropriate; assist the team leader and supervisor in the execution of their duties.
  • Must be reliable in attendance and punctuality, including breaks and lunch periods.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area; notify supervision of potential safety/health issues.
  • Support, follow, and monitor all safety requirements and provide immediate feedback to all/anywhere necessary.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies.

Education and Experience Requirements: 
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience working in a fast paced environment. 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Able to prioritize, maintain organization, and meet strict deadlines. 
 
Preferred Experience: 
  • Experience with optical and cosmetic inspection
  • Digital lensometer
  • Mounting
  • Optical equipment aptitude
  
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to be around limited chemical exposure such as alcohol, alloy, and soap.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, lab gloves, lab smock, and hairnet, 10-12 hours/day.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs., with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to reach overhead, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to reach horizontally, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to bend and /or squat, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to kneel, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to perform firm grasping, with or without accommodation
  • Ability to perform fine manipulation, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to stand for 10-12 hours, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this job.

EDUCATION:

·         High School Diploma or GED. Should be certified on technician I operations.

EXPERIENCE:

·         0-1 year of experience in a related field preferred. 

·         Able to work 8- 10 hour shifts, sit or stand for long periods of time.

·         Bend or twist as needed. 

·         Use of repetitive motion of hands and wrists, and ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
